Nintendo Switch 2: Everything we Know so Far

Nintendo Switch 2: Everything we Know so Far

Sat. 11 May 2024 - 19:57

The new Nintendo Switch 2 is on its way, but we might have to wait longer than we thought for its release. The new Nintendo console was casually announced earlier this week on their Japanese Twitter account (now known as X).

The company also revealed that this year will not include Nintendo Switch 2 in its sales forecast for the year. This means that it will not feature until at least April 2025 but can be announced later this year.

However, Nintendo is indeed working on its next big hardware, which will come out next year. There have been recent reports of Nintendo Switch 2 specifications leaks.

In this blog, we will take a look at everything we know about the upcoming Nintendo console.

Nintendo Switch 2 Specifications & Features

We can expect Nintendo to stick to the same Nvidia chip but upgrade to their Tegra X1, which is found in their current console.

We can also expect Nvidia to get a customized chip from Nvidia due to its vast success.

It is difficult to predict the GPU power and clock speed of the console, but we expect Nintendo to provide a next-gen gaming experience to gamers.

According to the leaks, the console will equip the following features:

  • Eight-core Cortex A78AE processor
  • 10 Streaming multiprocessors
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 64 GB Storage

If this is true, then it is a massive upgrade to the current Nintendo Switch. While these are impressive features, they are not close to what Xbox and PS5 offer.

  • Display

If we look at the display, then we can expect Nintendo Switch 2 to offer an OLED panel, just as we saw in Switch OLED.

However, we expect to have a boost in the overall refresh rate up to 120 Hz. We are hoping for a vibrant, high-quality screen that improves the gaming experience.

  • Features

On the feature side of things, there is very little known in the news. However, we expect to improve its Joy-Cons. Some reports suggest these could be larger and can attach magnetically.

Moreover, they could also include additional buttons for better gameplay. Better battery life and improved Wi-Fi connectivity are also some aspects that they could improve.

  • Backward Compatibility

One feature that fans are eagerly hoping for is backward compatibility. This will allow older Switch games to be played on the new hardware.

While there are concerns that this may not be a feature of the Switch 2, it would be a welcome addition for players looking to play their favorite titles.
